Send the site details, get a real price
We quote from a site visit rather than from a phone call, because the things that move the number are not visible from the street. Send what you have below and we will arrange a time to look.
What to send
Eight things, and you will not have all of them
Send what you have. We will tell you what is missing rather than price around it and call the difference a variation later.
| What | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The site address | Lets us look at the street, the frontage and the access before we come out |
| What is coming down or being dug | House, unit block, shop, factory, pool, shed, slab, or a cut to a level |
| Photographs | The frontage, the side access, the rear yard and anything unusual |
| Approval or CDC | What the consent permits and the conditions attached to it |
| Any hazardous materials report | Whether asbestos removal is a day or a week, and which licence class applies |
| Any geotechnical report | Narrows the rock range a long way and changes how it is priced |
| Engineer levels or a civil set | If a cut is in scope, the level we are quoting to |
| Your dates | Whether demolition and the dig go on one mobilisation or two |
How we price
Fixed where it can be, a rate where it cannot
The parts that can be seen get a fixed price: the strip, the structure, the access, the cartage, the clearing. The parts that nobody can see until the work opens up get a rate agreed before we start, so the final figure follows what was actually done instead of what somebody guessed.
Rock is the clearest example. So is spoil that turns out to need a different classification than expected. Quoting those as fixed figures means either padding the price against the worst case or writing a variation later, and neither is useful to you.
Asbestos is handled before the quote rather than after, because an unquantified asbestos scope is the single most common reason a demolition price changes.
